Local Bookshops

Waterstones

24, Fremlin Walk Shopping Centre, 44 Fremlin Walk, Maidstone ME14 1QP, UK – 01622 682042

Great variety of well laid out books on several levels. Lifts and stairs to all floors. I usually go to Waterstones for the Coffee shop which has a really nice ambience as well as excellent coffee teas and drinks. Snacks as well. Good place to hang out and relax from consumerism. Do some paperwork or catch up with friends on the phone. Music is good. Staff are friendly and efficient and the place is clean. Plenty of parking in the multistorey. Would recommend.

Great bookshop as expected. Bought two books. Job done

Oxfam

34 Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone ME15 6JJ, UK

Always a great place for picking up a decent book or two at a reasonable price. Has a great selection of SF books, romance, art, music, movies, history, DVDs etc. Friendly staff as well. Quite a turnover of books so grab it if you see a favourite book as it is likely to be gone by your next visit (I have learnt that at my cost many a time). Probably the best secondhand book shop in Maidstone (though some of the others are not bad either)

Great for second hand books and not too expensive.
