Local Bookshops

Waterstones

24, Fremlin Walk Shopping Centre, 44 Fremlin Walk, Maidstone ME14 1QP, UK – 01622 682042

Decent book store with a large selection of books such as art and comic / graphic novels etc. Also has a good selection of local books on Maidstone and Kent

Good selection, friendly and helpful staff, decent cafe.

WHSmith

38-42 Week St, Maidstone ME14 1RP, UK – 01622 692590

I have been going here for over 30 years. Now with the addition of the main post office for Maidstone it has made WHS great again. Stationary is top notch here.

Love it. It is especially good for art supplies, though they could do with selling a bit more specialist attb

Oxfam Bookshop

34 Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone ME15 6JJ, UK – 01622 753585

Always a great place for picking up a decent book or two at a reasonable price. Has a great selection of SF books, romance, art, music, movies, history, DVDs etc. Friendly staff as well. Quite a turnover of books so grab it if you see a favourite book as it is likely to be gone by your next visit (I have learnt that at my cost many a time). Probably the best secondhand book shop in Maidstone (though some of the others are not bad either)

Great for second hand books and not too expensive.
